First time shooting entertainment.

My father books entertainment and wanted me to take pictures of this event at a pub on St.Patricks day, they had irish dancers and my fathers band. It was a first time taking photos in this sort of environment. I was using a 50mm 1.8, and a YN-560 speedlight. I was using the flash to freeze the moment in the band and dancers. So here are some shots!

Keep in mind this was my first time and I am a high school student photographer looking to learn! So any feedback on any of the photos would be gladly appreciated!

#3 is okay and the mike pic is cool. The dancer pics are kind of blah. Looks like direct flash. A bit harsh and framing could be better. Get you a sync cable do IOU can use it off camera or Ty bouncing it. A Gary fong bell diffuser would probably help to.
