First trip ever going out take pics!

Hey all! I guess this is my first official topic here showing pics. I bought my D5000 a month ago, and still couldn't have gone out some where to take pics because of bad weather. So yesterday after waking up and seeing a bright day, I told myself this is it and went out. So I went to old San Juan city here in PR since it's like the main place to go to for the great views, cultural events, history... etc. On the down side... you sorta end up with the same pics as everybody else, so you gotta turn up the originality dial....

Anyway, here are some pics. Remember that this is my first camera ever, and been learning for one month only. Also, they were all shot in manual so any C & C will be appreciated.

Not too shabby for your first time out. In a couple of your pics (3 and 6), the shadows kinda took away from the overall picture. Just distracted me thats all. In 1, I noticed you over exposed in the background. Try stopping down or use a faster shutter speed. Otherwise good job and keep going out and practicing :thumbup:

Thanks. I didnt thought much of #2 when I took it. When I saw it at the laptop, I thought it had some potential if only I would've positioned myself better.
