Gotten colder...soooo.....the wife goes to bed I and practice on the dining room table...trying to understand the lighting...made a diffuser using foam board and tracing paper realized the necessity of additional frontal lighting....don't know if I'm getting any better but I'm a true hobbyist....next project is to build a couple of model cars and the bore you guys with more.....Happy New Year...

Can you put into words what you are learning about light? The second shot (Lite beer car) looks quite unlike the first. Is it possible to explain what you saw that prompted the changes and how you thought through the process?

They are two different cars...the car is actually silver/yellow/black....I made a reflector out of cardboard and tinfoil to put some light on the front of the car and the first car's color temp was way off..corrected in LR in the last photo...using a single bulb shop light with a 150w cfl.....I have been reading and watching Youtube and now it's the time to practice..........My next endeavor will be posted in another forum for critique as has been suggested....

Experiment more with directional light. Make it look more dramatic and more interesting.

You just gave me a great use for my hubby's die cast cars. Think I will "borrow" your idea to practice my lighting.

Also consider working on DOF and/or Focus Stacking.

#2 looks way more warm than the others. I don't know what your overall goal is here, but if you're trying to make them look real, i think you should try some different lighting and angles. IOW; get lower and use point lighting. (like the sun)
