first wedding- lighting help

I'm photographing a wedding in a few weeks. It's very low-key and low budget. I will be taking photos of the couple with family members inside the venue. The venue is a hotel and due to the time of year and the bride's request, we will not be doing photos outside. I'm shooting with a Canon 6D, probably with my 50 or 85mm. I'm concerned with the lighting in the hotel. Should I bring some lights? I can't set up anything too fancy, but I definitely need to be prepared! Can anyone recommend a simple and portable light setup that could be useful? I do also plan on going to the venue again next week to do some test photos. Thanks!

Better check with the hotel. When you visit, be sure to show them the lighting gear you are proposing to use.

What do you mean by "lights"; studio strobes? Speedlights? Continuous lighting?

Can anyone recommend a simple and portable light setup that could be useful?

My first choice would be studio strobes in sofboxes on light stands, but if the hotel will not allow light stands and modifiers, then I would enlist someone's help to hold a portable light on a pole.

I'm thinking a speedlight with RF trigger and modified by a softbox or umbrella on a sturdy pole that can be positioned as needed. Just find someone who knows something about how you want the light to be aimed, and who works for doughnuts.
