I'm shooting my first wedding this weekend! It's at a golf course with a "wedding island". at about 6pm. I couldn't ask for a more beautiful location! Do you have any tried and true tips?

Can you post some pics you have done? Cant give you tips without examples.

:addpics:

Finally got to do that.

Do not turn your camera off...

i'm not going to argue at all, because i'm new. But i was asked to do the wedding, and the couple knows i'm not by any means a professional. The post i did before, was my first shoot of my daughter. I'm confident in what i'm doing. I was just looking for some tips or ideas. THANK YOU to the two people that did offer things geared towards what i'm looking for.
I understand and accept feedback, and i do truly appreciate it. But i've looked through quite a few other threads, and it seems to be that some of you have nothing better to do than sit on here all day and come down so harshly on someone, to make yourself feel better. Criticism is great and appreciated. But being a dick to someone is totally uncalled for. I'll be leaving the forum. Thanks to those that actually like to help a beginner get started. To the rest of you.. i'm sure you haven't always been perfect either!

Well.. you posted your first shoot.. and you posted another saying you will do a wedding next weekend. You were asking for it. You go do that on ANY forum, you get the same treatment. Trust me.

I think you are missing a point or two. I know you're new here, so you haven't seen all of the "I just got my first DSLR today and I'm shooting a wedding tomorrow. What settings should I use?" threads. Wedding photography is a discipline that requires a great deal of experience and knowledge to pull off. It can also be very physically and mentally challenging. It also requires a great deal of equipment to pull off successfully. I looked at the pics in your other thread, and with respect, I don't feel you should be shooting a wedding. With that said, if the people you're shooting the wedding for understand where you're at as far as skill level, and maybe they don't have the several $K to spend on a pro, at the very least, you'll provide them with a photographic record of the day. If their expectations are higher than that, do as John suggested and politely bow out.

Make sure you take a camera and a lens
