First week with my new macro lens

Just got the Tokina 100mm 2.8 lens and have been playing around with it this week. All the shots were taken without a tripod since it seems like a pain to get it in the bushes and set it up just to have the subject fly away. Still pretty new in general to the whole slr thing and don't mind C&C but not looking for anything in particular yet since the macro is still so new I am sure I am doing everything almost wrong. Also 9 & 10 I used a ring light that I got on the cheap at amazon but thinking it will be better utilized during day shooting?

Looks pretty good.. just practice and practice! The Flying Bee shot is really nice!

Is that one of the LED ring lights? Interesting... almost looks like it made the Crab Spider fluoresce....

I love my Tokina 100... it does a nice job! Don't know what you are shooting.. but a diffused off camera flash (either wireless or cabled) does wonders for color and sharpness.

Hmm, I just picked up a Tokina AT-X 100mm macro (older) ... is yours the Pro D or the older one ?

The lens is the Pro D.

The spider one looks cool. Im guessing that he was translucent enough that the light kinda reflected thru him to give him that glow.
