I have the 70-200 f/2.8L IS - even with a x1.4 TC, difficult to use on "birds" (wildlife?) ... besides ducks, I'm sick of shooting ducks (ones around my area see people as food providers so they come quacking).
I love the 70-200 for its FAST AF - the x1.4 makes it really "search". Plus, 280mm is really not long enough. I always thought it was my lack of "sneak ability"
I've been looking at Canon's 100-400L, and Sigma's 150-500.
$500 cheaper plus 100mm extra is hard to beat - have seen so many examples where results are the same, then see other examples where the 100-400 is just incredible
