Your idea of fishing, matches my idea of bird hunting... put away the Beretta over under 12 for a Nikon D7000 (you can shoot allot more birds with a camera than you can with a gun).

Looks like a Monfrotto? I am about to make a decision on that or the Vanguard ...any thoughts on how you like yours/model?

Thanks Nancy! This is the only tripod I've ever had. It's the 055XPROB model with the 496RC2 ball head. I love it. Use it a LOT for my landscape shooting. It's also very steady when doing something close-up with macro. I also have the Monfrotto 681B monopod that's working great for my grandson's sports action!
