Flash Meter Polaris SPD100

Hi,

I'm an entry level in studio portrait photography having my D90 and small studio setup.
Is it ok if I purchase Polaris SPD100 as flash meter for my stdio photography? I know it has poor build quality but that's what I can afford right now.

Take that $125-150 and search your local Craig's List and/or eBay. For that sort of money you can get a nice Gossen analogue flash meter with lots of change, or a high-end professional meter such as one of the Minolta Flash series. That one will do the basic job, but if you're going to do a lot of studio work you'll enjoy the features and better build quality of a higher-end meter.
