Flash question

Hey guysquck question for you. I have ny minolta x700 that I got for my birthday from my fiancé and it came with the 360px flash I had a brainwave about 15 mins ago lol I put the 360px on my rebel xsi because I need a flash for it and it works great!!! I was just wondering If I would run into problems with this later on, the flash fires perfectly on the xsi just wondered if it would give me problems down the road. Thanks guys!!!

How many times have you used it because you could have fried the flash system in your camera

Just a couple times and I tried my flash in my xsi and it's working ok. Why would it fry the flash?

Different voltages I would assume.

A flash needs/uses a certain voltage to fire. If that voltage is higher than the camera is designed to handle, you could fry something.

Finding the flash voltage can be tough, but you could measure it with a multi-meter. I'm not certain of your camera's rating, but I'd guess that it's 250v, which is quite high. Canon film cameras were only rated for something like 9 volts.

If I had to guess, I'd say that you will be fine with that flash on your camera...but I can't be sure.
