Flikr Help

I am trying to upload pics to flikr but they are too big, can anyone suggestion a free site to resize my pics so I can get help on my pics?

GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program is a free piece of software that allows you to do all kinds of edits, including basic stuff like resizing...

I wouldn't trust processing on websites, because it's usually motivated by the expense of bandwidth and processor time. If you want decent quality you need to do it yourself.

Yeah - GIMP is great, and free.

Are they too big as in pixel dimensions, or file size?

I can't remember if there was a pixel limit on the free account, but I know on the paid account the only limit is that each individual file has to be less than 20MB (which is pretty big, for a JPG...).

And if I remember correctly - if you try to upload something bigger than that, it will automatically resize it to reduce the file size. I used to upload a lot of 4800x7000 pixel film scans, and they were usually around 18MB, but sometimes over 20MB... I noticed that the larger ones were smaller (in pixels) once they were uploaded.

Do you have a flickr pro account. It's like $35 bucks a year. You can then download original/full size images.

Gimp is a good program, but what is wrong with the software that came with your camera?
