Flower on Water Question

Hi there.

I'm new to the forum and macro photography is my main interest. I have a few questions.

first, this artist's picture, I've always wanted to do something like this with flowers on or touching water. What do they use as water holders when the water (not this particular photo) fades into the background seamlessly? And how did this artist get the water so creamy looking? I don't have a speedlite, but I'm saving up for one. Is it necessary to have one to take pictures like this?

Also, my next question by the same artist, in this beautiful bokeh shot, how did she get the"bokeh" drops to go up? I'm having trouble finding nice reflective backgrounds for dandelions like in this picture.

I think you can find a largish bowl or pan such that when you frame/crop the image you just don't include the far edge of the container.

Set up the shot on glass. The glass might actually be level, then the drops would not roll off.
