Make the aperture smaller, that will widen the DOF. I'm not real familiar with Nikon stuff, but this is at f/5.6. Try around f/8 or f/11, maybe even f/16.

And for the record, a Lamborghini can do some pretty impressive stuff in 2nd gear, including speeding tickets on the freeway. (90ish mph) :lmao:

How would you know? I thought you said in another thread that you didn't have a Lamborghini.

Why don't you just move the camera back and move the case forward so the lens and the writing are at about the same distance?

just tried it, the subjects didnt fill up the frame as nice, im pretty satisfied with that second picture

That looks a lot better at f/11. Did you try f/16?

I'd stick with f/16 for something like this. f/16 is usually about as sharp as f/22 w/o being as hard on your lens. Being a Nikon user myself, I will go no higher anymore than f/16 on my D40. I believe you need to focus on the writing though, not the camera for this same pic and that should mostly correct your problem. OR try focusing in the middle so both items are equally focused on if you need the silver clasp in your pic. Whatever you decide, GOOD LUCK!

I hope I've helped somebody! lol

You focusing looks a little off...what is your shutter speed used? Maybe it's camera shake causing it to be blurry? Try using a tripod if you have 1, or use pillows in your lap to help you steady your camera by putting your elbows into them firmly when holding your camera. I dunno what the problem is, but its better...just not great. Keep trying

i think your right about the shaking, i do have a tri-pod, the shutter speed was at half a second, the only problem is how hard it is to get the tri-pod to hold hte camera the way i was holding it, ill try it though, thanks again for all the help.

haaa, i think i got it, and added more of the subject left side
