While the content is interesting I think that these could have been better framed and processed.
In the first and the third, the subject's face is turned away and there is little or no impact to the photo.
In the second, half of the person's face is almost too dark to be seen and it is the face that is the center of this image.
In the fourth, the exposure of everything in the shadows has been raised too much and thus grainy and over sharpened to try and compensate.

Emotion is somewhat subjective. The technique is evident, however emotion depends on unique factors.

These remind me that one day I'd love to go back to Brazil and really see the country. I visited twice while working on a ship back in 1971 but only really saw Vitoria. I found the people I met to be very friendly... even though I'm NOT a football maniac.
