i would have kept her away from the window though....

the overexposed window is distracting...

i like the composition the picture contains, however, the window is quite distracting. If you move your neice to the left or right of the window, you will still get the light on the rear or her, and use the flash to compensate the front if needed. Maybe its just me, but it seems that the window is causing the left of your neices head to appear blown out. Give it a try. Reshoot the photo in front of the window, to the left and the right, then see what your results are. I would love to see the outcome and see what happens.
