i saw a used 52mm kodak circular polarizer filter on ebay for fairly cheap..$2+ shipping $2.. is it a good deal or there issue with kodak filter? beacause a nikon polarizer filter cost around $100. just to make sure, 52mm filter will fit 52mm lens no matter what brand.. right or wrong?
Most will tell you to stay away from cheap filters. Think of it this way: You're putting an extra layer of glass in front of your lens (however expensive it is or however nice its own glass is); do you really want that to be cheap glass? I've never heard anything about Kodak filters. I wouldn't buy a $2 filter, that's for sure.
You're correct that a 52mm filter will fit any 52mm lens, they just screw on the end.
I've seen suggestions for B+W and Heliopan the most. You might be able to find a Hoya or Tiffen a little cheaper if that's your biggest concern, and those are decent names as well. A search here on the forum would turn up lots of info on polarizing filters.
