For the pros: joining a chamber of commerce?

I'm wondering about joining a chamber of commerce. I've been shooting professionally for some time now but haven't joined any associations to get plugged into other businesses. A chamber of commerce can be a expensive membership. I'm just wondering if any of the pros out there have had experience with it?
