Speaking of which...I read years ago that the original Star Wars movie used old Graflex brand (Speed Graphic, Crown Graphic,etc) flashgun battery handles as the basis for the movie shooting device the actors held in their hands as "lazer swords" (as they are called in the latests Star Wars film).
