Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Ok, I've been doing this a long time and I've never seen THIS...

So I'm looking at pictures online and they look fine.

Save them off locally because I'd like to make an adjustment to play ... and they look flat. The way you'd expect if you saved for a non-SRFG profile and then viewed them in a browser.

Open them in PHOTOSHOP... same deal.

What the hell? lol Help?

BTW... my monitor is color corrected if that matters at all.

I'm so confused.

Hm, ok... I just turned off Color Management in photoshop so that fixed the issue there, but I don't recall having to do that before. Maybe I'm just getting old and losing my mind?

Or does the order you do things matter? Like if I install PS BEFORE I color correct? Does that affect it?

Also, still don't know why they look flat in picture viewer... they are in sRGB profile, so they should look close enough to accurate? No?

I've noticed that my pictures look different depending what program I view them in. The default one that comes with Windows, for example, makes everything look dark, unless it is set to full screen. Then it lacks contrast and looks a bit greenish.

Maybe your browser is just displaying them in a flattering way?

i blame ghosts.

.

Under Photoshop's Edit tab, scroll down, click on Convert to Profile, and check your settings there.

Typically the browser doesn't color correct at all... so if it's in sRGB color space, it's fine, and if it's not, it's a mess. In this case it's pretty much the reverse of the usual behavior.

Under Photoshop's Edit tab, scroll down, click on Convert to Profile, and check your settings there.

All the images I have been looking at are sRGB.

Interestingly, all of MY JPEGS are completely fine- just the ones I've pulled off the web act weird.
