Apologies for not being around much lately, but since my absence has not prompted the immediate return of the old forum UI....I guess im just going to have to make do...
I thought I would make my glorious return to forum life with a donation, maybe even something useful.
I figured that fast glass, even older glass, is something that at least a FEW people on the forum might still be in need of. Don't worry, its not REALLY old glass. (even though many will say that anything over 2 years old is a paperweight) Nevertheless, put aside any fears the naysayers might instill in your heart and rest assured that
this is indeed, a fantastic lens in great working condition.
What I have up for donation today is my Nikon 35-70 f/2.8 AF lens. (ah, such memories) AF works perfect at all distances. (its screw drive, so needs in body motor to AF) This is a push-pull lens, and the zoom/focus ring works perfectly, is still reasonably tight, with no zoom creep. Front element does have some blemishes (as noted in picture) but does NOT show in any pictures. (to see recent pictures taken with this lens, go to my Flickr page and look at the tree pics) rear element is blemish free. Aside from the front element blemishes, this lens is cosmetically in excellent condition. Aperture ring works perfectly in all positions, blades snappy and free of oil, no fungus. AF is fast, and there are no issues at any focal length.
Mechanically this lens is in EX condition.
This is an older pro lens, and was used as such. Like all of our equipment, it has been well cared for and is in perfect working condition.
This lens is FREE to a good home. As usual, me and the wife will cover all shipping and handling costs.
As a recipient of this donation, the total out-of-pocket cost to you to get this lens to your door will be $0 (zero dollars)
now on to the not-so-fine print and eligibility.
1: you must already have a camera with a built in focus motor for this lenses screw drive AF.
2: you must be a reasonably active and at least somewhat contributory member of the forum.
(specific qualifications to this end will be determined by me and the wife)
3: you must reside in the United States or Canada.
4: you must have a genuine NEED for this focal length/aperture combination.
(having a similar lens in another brand does not qualify)
To be considered, post in THIS THREAD with a statement of interest, an honest list of the camera equipment you already own, and why you feel you need this lens (what is it you plan to use this lens for that it would improve your photography over your current lens)
I am not looking for an entire dissertation, just a little something more substantial than "I can haz free stuff?".
