One of the more moving local displays of patriotism in honoring American Vets takes place in the little town of Glencoe, AL. as a reminder of the toll freedom takes. American flags and crosses are in place in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice from their little town. They will remain up for one week. The flags have been a part of the towns tradition for some time, but the crosses with service member names started post 911 as show of solidarity for country. Every year sadly the number grows. Right now the flags and crosses number 187 and stretch for over a mile in the median of a major state highway that runs through the town. Remember those who served on Monday!
