I really like all the different textures in this picture :)

Is that posed or "candid"?

Also, I'd recommend getting rid of your big portrait in the signature. It gets annoying quickly especially if you have a lot of posts in the same thread. Make it your avatar or something with more manageable size.

Oh I see why the photo looks "unusual". You have two light sources coming from both sides, which almost made it looked like you pieced two photos together using photoshop (with the stairs as the border). Honestly, the contradicting light sources are killing the photo for me. The light source is also too strong because it creates projected shadows. Otherwise, I like the composition and control of the color. The context is also interesting. I am not sure if you are trying to make a cultural/religious message, but it has that kind of implications.

I'm going to disagree with the Bothered Bovine; I really like the effect that this lighting gives the first image.

I agree with the Cow ... the mood of the shot is thrown off by the additional lighting effect ... too strong on the right.

Luv the context of the photo. Really stopped me in my tracks. I agree that the lighting on the right may be a bit much though. But still really nice photo! =)

I like the image... and the lighting as well.

I have to agree about your signature though... if you don't get rid of it (or find a way to make it WAY smaller), that's all people are going to comment on eventually. Just a friendly warning :sexywink:

But I really like the work you've been posting (that I've seen anyway) thus far.

Salih, you're handsome and all, but could you drop the billboard from your sig? :sexywink:

I love the lighting effect. Perhaps the light on the dress could have been toned down a tad, but other than that, I love the opposing shadows.

Exporters use of light was done deliberately to draw the eye directly to the places of interest in the image and to ensure that distract the eye

This is something on the letter myself, and my sense of your so thank you for your opinion
