Frustrated, please help

Just bought a used Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 VC

There is dust behind the front element. I'm down to the screws which hold it in place, there is blue glue on them to keep them in place furthermore. I'm down to 1 screw, but it has this blue glue within the notch and I cannot get it out to unscrew it! How do I remove it? I've picked at it gently but it's in there good and I can't get much out

I'd never take apart a lens. Chances are you won't get it back together calibrated properly for focus. Not to mention damage to the coating which is not made to be touched and maintaining a dust free environment is nearly impossible. You're creating more problems than you had with a little dust in the lens. If it's that bad send it for servicing. .

I've seen videos of people doing this on YouTube. Saving money. It's not too much dust or too little but it's bothersome

If you've taken apart the lens - you have just destroyed it.... Hawk it for what you can on craigslist and spend another chuck of change on a new one. Its probably more usefull as a coffee cup now.

Put the screws back in and check it. If its visible get it serviced, if not foggeddabout it

That lens HAD a six-year warranty and you MIGHT have been able to convince them to clean it for you under warranty. Once that first screw came out you can forget that though.

I'm not worried enough to contact them lol. I know a guy anyways at a camera shop that may be able to fix this anyways. I'm not someone to underestimate, I'm the kind of kid that grew up taking things apart and reassembling them when bored. I realize that doing this is not too easy of a task. If the glue wasn't there then I'd have this problem solved. If I find the dust to show in some photos then I'll get it fixed up.

I did take test shots but not for dust. As stupid as that may seem, I'm very OCD
