Can you elaborate more on why you're switching DX->FX?

That's not as much of a delima as the Nikon/Canon question (still haven't figured that one out yet). If they are staying with Nikon, it appears the OP will be adding to, rather than swtiching formats. The addition to Full Frame (FX) will only be adding more arrows to his quiver.

D3>D700

I own both the D700 and a D3s, I'm looking to sell my D700 and buy a D3 its a great camera, waterproof, indestructible, amazing battery life and fantastically fast.

Keep in mind that the D3 and D700 have the same sensor and image processor, image quality is identical.

HOWEVER, the D3S has an improved sensor and image processor and is nearly 2 stops better in low light then a D700 or D3.
