G15 or G1X?

My trusty little D-Lux 5 has bitten the dust (almost literally as it was it's lack of dust proofing that caused it) and I am looking for a "Sit in the pocket all day and use as required" walk round compact.

I used to have a G5 which I just loved to bits, and as I have Canon EOS kit, I thought that I would return to the fold.

Reading the specs I get the impre4ssion that the G15 although it has a smaller sensor, is in fact the better camera. What I would like to know is if any one has had hands on experience of both, Which produces the better images of the two?, Maybe a few pros and cons as well.
