Morning Watering for the Zinnias, Split Leaf and Blackberries

Wonderful garden! Looks peaceful. A lot of work?

Last July 1st that area was all just grass. It started out as some potted flowers to put with the hummingbird feeder and spiraled from there (it’s addictive !). I planted everything myself - just some sweat equity and a lot of YouTube how to clips. Upkeep shouldn’t be too onerous. I enjoy going out there in the morning before work and doing any little chores that are needed. It doesn’t seem like work so far. I could sit out there all day - and sometimes I do!

Thanks! I’m trying my best not to overplant but I do want it to look full. Hopefully I’ll need fewer fill in annuals next year.

Planted okra again, fourth time this year. Seems after I plant the next day brings a torrent of rain and washes them out. They like it hot and dry, maybe this time’s the charm.

Took a suggestion from Sharon and got the JJC "Z" mount extension tubes. I am going to need lots more practice and today, because of a light breeze, could only shoot a new Blackberry area.

A Knockout Rose from my garden - this flower is only about 3/4" in diameter. Z50, 50-250 coupled to two extension tubes.

Old roses, new homes.

Two 50+ year-old plants rescued from a fence rebuild last fall. Difficult removal and doubts they'd survive that trauma plus an Ontario winter. Very tough ladies--Felicite and an old Bourbon, Sidonie. Seem very pleased with their new location. Happy they pulled through. Crappy phone shot.

They look good despite the move and the winter. Roses can be very resilient! Those are the obelisks you made? It all looks very coordinated and healthy!

Yup. Did you try building some?
We're 3 years into a five-year plan restoring/reclaiming/redesigning a neglected old property's beds, borders and shrubberies. Just finished clearing a mob of invasive crud along with insurgent, too-big buckthorns and Norway maples along with squirrel-plant black walnuts. A work-in-progress.

It's amazing how hardy roses are, even established ones. I take it you moved them when they were dormant.
