Gears at Knobel's Amusement Park

These gears were used to rotate a circular roof, powered by a water wheel. C&C welcome.

The angle is quite common - I would work on using more interesting angles.

There is a time and place for shallow DoF. There is a time and place to have the whole shot in focus. This I think is the time to have the whole shot in focus. Or to crop closer to the "main subject" your focus has made. There is a lot going on here that is very interesting and could be in focus. Or at least not as soft. And, new angles are good too!

I agree with trying new angles. I was worried that if I had everything in focus that the shot would be too busy. But thanks for the help everyone!
