A corporate photo should embody a powerful presence of leadership. Not getting that from this pose. Plus the lighting is casting an odd shadow beneath his nose.

yeah, I'm not getting the corporate vibe on this one either.... feels more "model" than corporate.

The hell with the title. Just look at the picture. If I would have chosen "This is Mickey mouse" for the title, would you have answered "Not true" ? For god sake.

He looks baked bro. Technically the photo is pretty good. Good lighting, great clothing choice (double kudos for that) but the pose could be a bit better. This angle looks a bit with the way his hair flows to side like this. Having him raise his chin a bit and take a 2/3 from the other side and see what you think.

I like the lighting, the color, the mood and the pose. It is the expression that bothers me. He seems in though and yet distracted. Looks as if he is looking away from the camera. This doesn't seem as bad in the larger image, but that was my first thought when I saw it.

Hope this is useful.

Don't get defensive. Your title implied that it was a corporate shot, and those, generally speaking, do have a certain feel that is expected from them.

It's not their fault they mis-interpreted your intentions here based off your title.

THAT BEING SAID...

I think your light is too high. At least for this pose, it is.

He BAAAAAAAAAARELY has a HINT of catchlight at the top of his eyes, and the "triangle" of light on his cheek is leaking down too far. And then of course as mentioned, the shadow under his nose... If you would have dropped the light a little bit, it would have cleaned up the light and shadows on his face a bit, I think, and would have given you some catchlights :sillysmi:

I thought you were right about the height of the light, but when you look at the shadow on the suit you can see that the light is not as high as high as you might think. Far from it.

Except the light is too high for his *face*, which is the focus of the photo... Not the suit. But that's just my opinion, so you're welcome to do with it what you'd like.

I was talking about the angle of the light, and sure I do what pleases me. You don't like it, that's fine with me.

Okay, so it's not just me thinking he looks baked...

What does it mean "baked" ? I guess this is slang?

And I was talking about the height... Not the angle.

Again, why so defensive? Was this photo not up for critique? If it wasn't, I sincerely apologize, but if it was, I'm not attack you... Or it... I'm just telling you what I'm seeing and explaining my reasoning, in hopes of being helpful.

Clearly, though, my thoughts are unwelcome, so I will be sure to avoid bothering you in the future.

Oh, sorry, I see you are from Europe. Yes, baked is American slang for "high on marijuana". It can also be used to mean very drunk, but that's more of an older-person's description, often describing somebody who has drunk a lot of white wine.

I'm going to take you seriously on this since you might not be familiar with American slang....

Baked is high....on drugs....stoned....three sheets to the wind....one toke over the line.
