Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
So I'm a DJ currently from New Jersey looking to get into photography. I've always been into it, I think the art of photography is different from everything else. I was really motivated after watching "City of God" a movie about favelas in Brazil, and about a photographer named Wilson Rodrigues. Now I'm planning on taking photography in high school and I'm in eighth grade. I was wondering what I need to get started, and what I need to know. If you have any sticky threads or anything that helps, post below :D

Thanks,
DJ Armani

You got got your first step in the right direction IMO by going on here. Read around and look at pictures and comments. Read up on books and learn about photography. Of course you will need a camera with a lens. Even though some may say start with a basic camera with no detachable lens but I suggest get a used, older DSLR camera if you can't afford a newer one and start from there. Get the camera, take some photos and learn the setting, aperture, ISO and shutter. Read books, go to youtube and learn. Go on youtube and learn how to post process your photo. Take a random photo that has flaws, then watch youtube videos how to eliminate those flaws and make them better. It's all about learning and knowing what to do. You can take a bad photo, for example underexpose and etc and make them to a decent and good photo if you learn post processing in photoshop. The more you learn, the less you have to adjust in photoshop and make your life easier. Anyways welcome to the photography world and good luck. Any questions, just keep asking. This forum is not that bad.

P.S. I'm a DJ too. Photography is like any art in the world, it takes a lot of practices to really learn how to master them. Posting them on here is the same is DJing, some people might not like your photo so you learn how to adjust them. No matter what though, make sure it's your own and take the advice that make you better at what you want to do, not to please everybody out there. If you're a DJ, you know what I mean. If we love and confident in what we do, we know other people will love it too. To each their own, GL.

Welcome, agreed with city of god comment. Inspiring movie no doubt.

I see that your DJ? Cool deal, I'm into music down here as well. Have any of your instrumentals?
