With that sort of budget I would go with the x-pro 1.

What are you going to do with the images.... have you considered a higher end point and shoot..... 12mp can give you a lot of latitude and you can do this under a grand Save the other 2000 for later The P&S cameras are small and easy to hide.

35mm f/1.4 for sure. It comes out to 50mm (Either 52mm or 56mm). Eventually, if you really love that camera they should have more lenses out.

I would like to stay away from film/chemicals due to personal reasons.

My budget is ~$3000

At about $8k, I guess the Leica M monochrom is out then. <sigh> Tragic since, apart from the budget, it's exactly what you want -- fabulous B&W (no color) in an inconspicuous camera with uncompromising quality.

On a more serious (and affordable for under $3k) alternative: get a Canon 6D with an EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens. That'd be a full-frame camera with a single "normal" prime lens... perfect for street photography.

You could also get an APS-C DLSR (tons to choose from), in which case get a 35mm prime lens (or something close).

Don't we all want Leica? I would love to have one also. Anyways i will get Silver Efex Pro, that's what helps Leica as well???

It's difficult to keep a dslr on you all the time.
