Osprey don't look for loose limbs or branches; they take them on the fly!

Awesome capture!

I can't even get one Osprey, and here you have three of them! Nice shot!
Same one in a sequence.
Great image! Is this a montage of three separate shots - the same bird?
It is a montage of the same bird - three different shots composited together as one...He came in hot and hit that branch with a very audible "crack," then off he went to the nest.

...any chance the bird is female? There are some birds where the males do help with nest building. Now I'm wondering if ospreys do.

Great job with the photo montage! 👏
Most male birds start the nest building, then once they attract a mate, they either take a subordinate role and let the female finish the build, making the male's role, finding the sticks. This is very evident with the Great Blue Herons.

What a lovely shot! They're definitely going for the sticks together.

We used to watch pairs of barn swallows start nests together. Right outside our front door, every year. After the initial wild activity, they settled down and she got to work on the details.

I miss them!

Awesome stuff BD!
