getting lens hood

im new to this forum and wasnt sure where to ask this. i want to shoot light trails and people say i should have a lens hood. im not sure what lens hood to get. can anyone help.

Are you expecting members of this forum to have any idea what lens hood you need without any information whatsoever re what camera/lens you have? Get #12.

Check out your camera owner's manual to see if they advise which hood for the lens you are referring to. If that doesn't work, do a Google search on your lens to see if there is a site that contains the info. Get the hood suggested by the manufacturer.

each lens has its own hood. try google-ing your lens model and add hood to the search

Alternatively, you can go to B&H, find your lens there, and the hood made for it will be listed in the accessories.

Just go to amazon.com. They have chinese made hoods. Make sure you get one for the exact lens not just the right diameter.
