Great shot. Like John I love how the background works with the face. The only trouble is that now I may have to shave my beard in shame, knowing that I'm unable to reach this level of grandeur.

I felt rather inadequate as well, Ken. His hair was a long (disproportionately) as his beard as you can see some of it blowing across the top of his hat. The bisecting of light to dark, dark to light was done quite purposeful though in all fairness to me, he knew the camera was pointed in his direction but was not aware I'd made several shots already. I was shooting my D810 with the 80-400 with the 1.4 extender at f/8 which made the background of the sky and the Gulf of Mexico a mishmash of dark blue and overcast gray. I've learned to use my depth of field preview button for opportunites like this when they present themselves.
