If you buy a Minolta MD-mount to Canon EOS mount adapter for $39.95 or so, then the lens will focus all the way to infinity. Of course it will also have a negative element in the adapter, to achieve this Infinity focus possibility, and that will create a 1.4x telephoto converter effect. So it'll be an 81.2mm effective focal length on full-frame EOS. And the edges of the frame will undoubtedly look like utter rubbish from wide-open down to about f/4.8 or so. But still...

Or, I suppose you could go the extra mile and have it converted by a repairman to an actual,permanent EOS mount that would NOT need any glass elements to be able to focus to infinity. Have you received a price quote on that kind of a repair mod??? I'd be interested to know what is being charged for that these days!

Cool. His work looks NICE!!!!!!!! Here is one of his custom-machined EOS mounts for a Minolta 58mm f/1.2, perhaps a slightly newer version that the one you have....not sure if it's newer though...might be "older"...but still, same model basically, the Rokkor 58/1.2!!! -mg_3509.jpg

Probably close to $200. The only reason im considering it is because i got the lens for free. They are selling for $400+ on ebay.
