Just playing with processing in a different way. Any thoughts on the following would be appreciated.

I think I like where you're going here. In the first one though, I find the highlights on the forehead a bit too intense; they're really pulling my eye from his face. I like the second one, but I think that if you'd opened up the light on the right (image left) side of his face so that it went just past his eye it would have been excellent. Nice work!

Thanks. I think the highlight on the forhead is to do with a little too much sharpening...similar on the second but less intrusive as it's sharpened less.
In the second we were having a hard time with the lights we had to get light into the left (his right) eye. We had a reflector there but think we need to sort our reflectors out...can't seem to direct light accurately (home made reflectors with lastolite material).
