Caught this little guy on our morning glories out back while on a smoke break.

Amazing picture, love the colours but what on earth is it? Looks like a hybrid lol

Its a crop from a morning glory. I shoot them on breaks...in the morning, they are really pretty when fully opened. tried to crop a comp so that the lines left in the corners after coming out from the bug.

I think it is some variation of a hoverfly....I'm sure someone can correct me if I am wrong. I dont' see stingers on these little guys.

Thanks. I was wondering if I'd get a comment on the comp...I kinda was happy/proud of the framing when cropping...there was a method to my madness...glad it worked, having the bug where it is, having the lines vanish where they do...etc..., and I thought the green on blue was a cool touch.

it's just a bug on a flower after all....so I tried to catch it as more than that.

anyone know what kind of bee / wasp that is? I thought it was a form of hoverfly but I don't see anything matching it. Closest I saw was a tiger striped bee, or something like that but it was more hairy.
