Good photography books

There have been several threads on this topic on TPF.

Probably the best book for beginners is Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson

a good one on composition is The Photographer's Eye by Michael Freeman

I would suggest "On being the photographer" by David Hurn. Its not a technical instruction but rather more of a philosophy of photography, I learned a lot from it and its a great read.
