Good price for an xsi?

I might be able to get a used Canon xsi for under $300, is this a good buy for a beginner? My last camera was a point and shoot that is 8mp. I basically just want something better, and was seeing if this was a good deal. Any help is appreciated.

If it comes with a lens and everything works, it's a great deal.

As long as the body is in good working condition, it in itself is a good deal.

Even if it doesn't come with the kit lens you can always slap a 50mm f/ 1.8 on it for like a hundred bucks more and you'll have a pretty nice little setup.
