and I think Canon and Nikon are probably quite a bit ahead of them in lens making.
And Sony in their sensors.

He may be referring to the Galaxy 4 which is supposed to have one of the better cell phone cameras out there.

OP - It sounds to me like you would do best going with either a simple point and shoot camera or entry level dslr camera. You can get both of those for less than the price of a cell phone with a decent camera. A lot of them (mainly the point and shoot cameras, some dlsr's can but it's limited) even have wi-fi capabilities on them now so you can upload directly from the camera to FB or whatever site you'd like to so long as you are connected to a wifi signal.

BACKGROUND: 1 standard set for all photo-shoots, indoors, product shoots only. I rotate dif products in, out of set. I can get a iPhone4 for $125, reconditioned, certified or used.

if your going to invest in a camera, just get a DSLR (for still shots) and if your going to need some video later on, just make sure the DSLR you get is a Canon (as Canon DSLR excel in video). You'll get clearer, better photo's with a DSLR, as well as more options (lenses ect) later down the road.

which kind of products? some are easy and can be done also with a phone, however any P&S with a zoom will be easier to use for that, same price (and some more for a dSLR or mirrorless, e.g. Used SLR Digital Cameras Page 2: | B&H Photo Video ). Some can be more difficult in terms of lighting (e.g. large products, cloths, glass etc) and thus you will spend more $ for lighting... no reason then to save some money on the main tool.
