That's a nice shot. Exposing for your flash really killed the ambient lighting and made for a dramatic shot - bird stands out really well against the dark background.

Pretty much..... tripod setup ~10-12' away, wired remote (low battery wouldn't fire wirelessly), flash on hotshoe TTL, prefocused.
