Gradient ND Filters

I am looking at spending the money received for Christmas on my new hobby... So I am looking at getting some gradient ND filters to compliment the LCW Fader ND filter I already have.

Can anyone recommend a good set that will not cost a fortune? When I say "will not cost a fortune" I do always believe in getting the best you can afford.... So please offer any suggestions you may have

I just use the cheap cokin P series filters. They scratch fairly easy but they're cheap (basically disposable, although I've been on my first set for over a year) and don't seem to cause any noticeable optical problems. I don't use the filter holder for them either, I just either hold them in front of the lens or gaff tape them in place.

Thanks for the reply.. Although I am new to digital photography, I do believe in buy the best you can afford...

I have been looking at Lee filters as they get good reviews, and cost around the £200 mark in the UK for a set of 3... plust the holder etc... Although I have not done a good search so I suspect I could save a little more

You probably want the hard Grads not the soft. but that's up to you. You can't go wrong with Lee's or Singh Rays But the Cokins work too

Thank you... As I say this is all new to me, so I look up to the more experienced members for any advice you can give, take it all on board.... I may go into my local store and try both and see the difference.... benefits etc of each type.
