Grand Canyon! Part 1: Rapids

Well, how could i take my camera on the worlds premier multi-day whitewater trip and NOT put up a thread dedicated to the rapids? Unfortunately, the only flip of the trip was the boat i was paddling in so I didn't get a photo of the flip, but my mom did on film!

Anyway, the boats you see are 18-foot long oar boats. The boat I was in most of the time was a paddle boat (everybody has a paddle instead of only one person with oars).

These photos are from Horn Creek Rapid, Hermit Rapid and Lava Falls. We flipped in Hermit. All were shot in manual with the 70-300 NIkkor. C&C always appreciated. Enough talk, here are some of the shots:

Do it sooner than later. It is absolutely a life changing experience. Plus you're practically right there!

WOW!!! That's amazing. That motion-blur is perfect!

It's such a great, fun place to shoot.
