Nice macro, good composition; a bit over-bright in the highlights however. I'd like to see the head area darkened maybe 1/2 stop or so. Also, watch distracting elements such as the lavender (?) stem directly in line between you and the insect. I understand this sort of work is often 'take what you get' but a slight shift to your right would have really helped.

Good focus. Pretty good composition with the exception of the flower in the foreground. But unfortunately the lighting is too bright. Might be able to improve it with some minor photoshopping. Decent photo.

It looks like the focus is on the grasshopper's leg. Keep practicing though. I have yet to get the focus right on these guys. My first year entering our state fair's photo contest I entered a photo of a grasshopper on a stalk of wheat. It was a great picture, except the focus was on the leg and the face was a little blurry.
