What's new

Great article....

I agree with what they are saying, really. Even if you've achieved what you want, push further! As the cliche guys, "Sky is the limit."

I don't think its really a slam. Just don't use what people say on forums as "gospel" ....

Critiques and comments about your work on forums is great to help yourself pin down stuff that could be wrong in your photographs. Nobody should cry and delete a photo because some people on here said it was ****. Even if they have 123434 trillion post and brag about having 34 pro body cameras, 2 studio like i seen here before. Sometime keeping a bad picture you took around makes your remember whats wrong about it. Then after, you look at it 6 months down the road and says well, i should have done this to make it better.

First rule is that there are no rules.

If you submit photos for C&C here, most will comment on the technical nature of the photos. (blown out highlights, underexposed, etc.) However, there are times when stylized looks will often have technical "fails" but succeed incredibly if that's the look you're going for, etc. So take everything with a grain of salt, etc...

First rule is that there are no rules.....
The first rule is to understand the rules are not rules, but tried and tested guidelines that will save you an immense amount of time when learning the fundamentals, unless you really don't mind wasting a ton of time making the same fundamental mistakes so many before you made.

The second rule is to gain an understanding of the guidelines so comprehensive, that you know when and why the guidelines can ignored effectively.
