Green Heron

These are not very common in MN. 55 years of camping, hiking, hunting, fishing and I've only seen two. Until today. Actually stopped to get a shot of a Great Blue Heron. Didn't get those. Long story, but glad I stopped.

Not the Koi. The Koi are on the huge size of pond fish. I think the average Koi is probably around ten pounds. The Green Heron hops around the rocks, then very quickly extends its coiled 100' neck out, the head plunges into the pond and it comes up with a small gray Mosquito Fish swimming near the surface. Repeatedly.
