Green in the middle of winter

Here is a shot from the Botanical gardens near me. It has been a brisk 80ºF here this month so I was able to find this guy out and about to experiment. Please let me know what you think- these are not my normal crops or compositions because I wanted to try something new and I am curious if you like it or not.

Not bad, I like the first one best. If I was shooting this, I probably would have shot it in landscape mode, rather than portrait. I would also have placed the frog on the left "thirds" line and had it looking into the picture. Not sure what your intent was with the 2nd one.

I think #2 is pretty cool. Nice color, kind of an odd crop but it doesn't bother me all that much. It reminds me of a science book from my high school days...

#1 would have been better if you took it from a different angle, perhaps lower and closer to the front of him. To me it's kind of a boring composition.

Here is another that I took of the same frog in landscape- I thought this crop was a bit boring honestly and it seems to be one that I always use.
