Hi one and all,

My name is Mark Lent and I am a native of New York, but have lived and worked in many other places.

I was a photojournalist for 20+ years and worked at small weekly publications, all the way up to international ones. I have most recently wrote for PopPhoto's on-line portal, and also moderated for their forums. I am not however, affiliated with POP now.

I am currently a full time student at the University of Alabama and working on obtaining a PhD in Mass Communications. I am also working toward another undergraduate degree in Telecommunications & Film (I already have a Photojournalism degree) and think that this will help me be more-well-rounded to teach print and broadcast journalism.

I specialized in sports photography, but love to shoot whatever shows up in front of me. I am very interested in photographing wildlife and my goal is to obtain a replacement for my now-dead 600mm F4 to shoot with. I am particularly interested in Sigma's 300-800 F5.6 lens. I also shoot with all Nikon gear and have for most of my career.

Anyway, this is me. Happy to be here and looking forward to being a big contributor.
