Took this a while ago.. other than a problem with noise, i was quite pleased with this photo. comments welcome

Not bad! A few thoughts for another time: Try not to crop out "little bits" such as the top of the neck in the upper LH corner. Make it a bold crop or include it all, just like the lower right where you have a tiny bit of the bottom visible in the very corner.
Your lighting is a bit harsh; it looks like doorway or room light from the top; something as simple as a couple of square feet of 4mil polyethylene sheeting (cheap like borscht at a hardware store) would have diffused this and really improved the lighting. Likewise, the noise could have been greatly reduced by dropping your ISO down and using a longer shutter speed.
