Had a baby, took some pictures, etc etc

He was in a special care unit for two weeks hooked up to a bunch of stuff so it was difficult to get pictures that weren't chaotic. I tried to capture the whole situation...

Feel free to comment and critique just keep in mind there is only so much you can do in a hospital with lighting and background stuff!

Oh and there is something about #2 I don't like. Colors seem off or something

#1 - its just a snapshot, nothing special from photo point of view

#2 and #3 are Story Tellers.
#2 needs to boost exposure and turn BW. The shadows that, I'm assuming, Mommy is coming out from give her guardian-angel look while the little one is in highlight. It is an amazing capture :thumbup: reason for boosting exposure is once you turn it BW, mommy won't be noticeable as much thus either boost overall exposure or if you're using programs like LR boost fill light.

Normally, You'd hear/see me talking about lighting a lot, importance of it and how natural light isn't always the best unless one knows how to use it efficiently. However, on occasion there are people who manage to utilize ambient light and allow it to be the main reason why image is as good as it. I think you are one of those people and #2 & #3 are those images. GREAT JOB!

Thanks. First and last one are done with bounce flash...second is done with the UV lights they had him under for the jaundice.

I too love #1. That was awesome to get the kid holding the pacifier like that. Love it from a mommy's perspective :thumbup:

My personal like about #1 is he has the air tube and what not hooked up to him which shows how fragile he is yet he is gripping the pacifier quite strongly. So kind of a contrast of the situation

my 2 cents. I love the original number 2. I would may darken it up a slight bit as the baby is a little over exposed. I think it show more of the story in colour in this case.
Congrats on the baby and enjoy it...so much fun for the first few months!
