HALOS USING TELEPHOTO LENS AT NIGHT

THE OTHER NIGHT I WAS TAKING PICTURES OF THE MOONRISE USING NIKON D60 DSLR WITH A 70-300MM TELEPHOTO LENS. I GOT SOME GOOD SHOTS BUT THEY ALL HAVE A "HALO" ON THE PICTURE. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? THANKS.
